SHORE RECORDS and MINIMUM SIZES

Alongside the more common species is the current minimum size which can be presented for weigh-in. Where no limit is shown the minimum size is 20cm. Length is measured in a straight line (not over the curvature of the body) between the tip of the snout and the end of the middle ray of the tail fin (e.g. in the case of coalfish to the innermost point of the 'v' in the tail); rays and skate are measured across the wings. Fish of below the minimum size can be retained for the purpose of specimen or record claims only.
At Club meetings a maximum of three each of the shoal species - mackerel, saithe (coalfish) and herring - plus only one wrasse and one each mini-species, can be weighed-in. Note that any angler presenting undersized fish at weigh-in is disqualified - his whole catch doen't count.
All specimen and record claims have to be with the competition secretary within 14 days of capture, and the fish retained for ID purposes.
